The Kishwaukee Family YMCA is proud to offer a safe, educational and nurturing environment for preschool children ages 2 through 5 years. We strive to provide a stimulating classroom environment that fosters learning as well as curiosity, creativity, and compassion for others, regardless of background. All of the Kishwaukee Family YMCA Preschool Staff are certified in First Aid and CPR for infants, children, and adults. All of our staff are DCFS mandated reporters and certified in Child Abuse Prevention.

|TADPOLES 2 Year Olds||TTh 9:00am-10:30am||Members: $110/mo Non-Members: $215/mo|
In Tadpoles, children will meet 2 days a week, and will develop skills in listening, following directions, and sharing. This class also includes further development of large and fine motor skills, as well as beginning age appropriate educational basics such as colors, counting, letter sounds, and vocabulary. Parent/guardian will be contacted for any diaper/pull-up changes needed.
|LEAP FROGS 3-4 Year Olds||TTh 9:00am-12:00pm||Members: $160/mo Non-Members: $320/mo|
In Leap Frogs, children will meet 2 days a week, and will continue to grow their listening and following directions skills, while developing fine motor skills such as writing and using scissors. Further letter and sound recognition is incorporated into daily lessons. Children will also work on numbers 1-10 as they learn math concepts, and practice name identification. Social skills and independence are important skills for this class. Sports and swimming lessons are included weekly. Pull-ups are ok for this class.
|CATERPILLARS 3-4 Year Olds||MWF 9:00-12:00pm||Members: $200/mo Non-Members: $385/mo|
In this class, children meet 3 days a week, and will continue to develop fine motor skills with tracing letters and numbers. Children will work on letters, sounds, and name recognition, as well as tracing the alphabet. Some basics, such as addition and counting, as well as incorporating ideas to explore math and science concepts. Sports and swimming lessons are included weekly. Children are recommended to be potty trained for this class, however, pull-ups may be used.
|BUTTERFLIES 4-5 Year Olds||MWF 9:00am-12:00pm||Members: $200/mo Non-Members: $385/mo|
For Butterflies, children should be entering Kindergarten in the Fall of 2024. Classroom activities are designed to provide your child with the school readiness skills needed to enter Kindergarten. Children will review letters and sounds. Basic sight words will be part of the weekly themes. Letter and name writing and numbers 1-20 will be practiced. Sports and swimming lessons are included weekly. Children must be potty-trained for this class.
