AMERICAN RED CROSS LIFEGUARDING COURSE
Build responsibility and skills for life by becoming a certified American Red Cross lifeguard. Upon completion of the course, participants will be certified in Lifeguarding, First Aid, and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer. Students must be 15 years of age before the end of the course.
This is a blended learning course. Participants will be REQUIRED to complete the on-line portion of the course prior to the first day of the in-person class. The online portion takes around 8 hours. Upon registering the class, participants will be emailed a link to the online course.
Certification Course Schedule
Monday, March 27 from 9:00am-5:00pm
Tuesday, March 28 from 9:00am-5:00pm
Wednesday, March 29 from 9:00am-5:00pm
Participants must attend all sessions. There will be lunch breaks. Participants should bring their own sack lunches.
Cost: $225
Course Requirements
Must be at least 15 years old
Prerequisites
Participants MUST Successfully complete the prerequisites before taking the course
300-yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke
2-minutes of treading water using legs only
Swim 20 yards, retrieve a 10-lb dive weight from 7 ft deep, surface and swim 20 yds with the weight, using legs only and exit the pool without using a ladder within
100 seconds.
