Sycamore, IL, November 18, 2022 – The Board of Directors of the Kishwaukee Family YMCA is pleased to announce it has named Brian Bickner, current Development Director, as interim Chief Executive Officer of the organization. This appointment follows the recent retirement announcement of former CEO Mark Spiegelhoff, who served over 7 years in the role.
Alongside the YMCA’s dedicated leaders and program directors, Brian will focus on ensuring great member experiences, efficient operations, and strong financial stewardship. He will also seek to maintain continuity with community members and key stakeholders through this interim period.
In addition, Mr. Bickner will prepare the organization for a successful start to 2023 by initiating any necessary short-term changes, gathering input on potential long-term improvements, and making other preparations to ensure a smooth transition to the next CEO. A search committee has been appointed by the Kishwaukee Family YMCA board to identify highly skilled candidates to serve as the permanent CEO.
Established in 1957, the Kishwaukee Family YMCA is a charitable organization whose mission is to enrich the Spirit, Mind and Body of all those in our community, especially families and children, regardless of ability to pay.
