Adult Sports and Recreation

YMCA Adult Sports and Recreation programs are your ticket to staying active and having fun.  Whether you swim a lap or sink a basket – – you definitely want to get in on this action!

Sports and Recreation programs offer fun ways to stay active, get fit, and explore new hobbies. Whether you are a seasoned athlete or just looking to explore a new hobby, we have something for you! From Soccer to Swim, the YMCA offers a variety of adult sports leagues and programs that provide fun and healthy activities for adults of all fitness levels.

Racquet Ball Court Times
Racquet Ball courts are available by reservation up to 24 hours in advance or as a walk-on when courts are open. Please call the front desk at 815.756.9577 to schedule a reservation.

Winter Sports Leagues

Co-Ed Volleyball League (Age 18+)
Games are played on Tuesday nights at 7:00, 8:00 or 9:00pm. Teams can consist of up to 3 guys and 3 girls on the court for a total of 6 players. If you are a single player who is looking for a team to play with please stop by the YMCA front desk or register online to be placed on the interest list.

League Dates: January 15-April 16
Tournament Date: April 10 & April 23
Registration Deadline: January 12
Captains Meeting: January 11 @ 6:00pm

Member Team Fee: $286
(50% of the players must be members to receive Member Team Fee)

(No games on January 28 for a Swim Meet)

NEW! 3 on 3 Ironman Inline Tournament
Date: Saturday, December 22
Time: 8am-6pm
Location: Kishwaukee Family YMCA

Tournament Rules:
-Maximum 4 people per team
-Goalies provided and randomly assigned
-Games are (2) 7 minute periods
-2 Divisions (Gold and Silver) Division assignments will be determined by the administrator (4 games guaranteed)
-Games become 4 vs 3 when one team leads by 4 or more
-Penalties settled as penalty shots
-Top 3 in each division get to play in a single elimination tournament.

The Barbed Wire Betties are an empowering group of women helping to bring back a lost sport–roller derby. Our mission is to build friendships within the community, raise self-esteem and improve with healthy changes. League runs all year. Paddlin’ for MB Pre Season Conditioning at the Y
Train with our local Dragon Boat teams! This winter join Paddlin’ for MB and the Flying Ears for Pre-Season conditioning as they train for their upcoming competetive season. This is an advanced class emphasizing strength in core, back, shoulders plus a cardio component. Pre-Season training is open to anyone interested in a hard core workout in the off season!

Pick-Up Basketball
Members are welcome to join in pick-up basketball games that take place during the below times. Open to members 18 years and up.
Monday/Wednesday/Friday – 2-4pm
Tuesday/Thursday- 7:00am-9:00am

Adult Drop-In Pickleball
A newer sport that takes elements from badminton, tennis and ping pong. Pickleball is a fun game that is played on a badminton court with the net lowered to 34 inches at the center. It is played with a perforated plastic baseball (similar to a wiffle ball) and wood or composite paddles. It is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a quick, fast-pasted competitive game for experienced players.
